How to Check Your BECE Results Online

Everything you need to see your Basic Education Certificate Examination results, and what to do when something goes wrong.

What you need before you start

• Your index number — from your registration or admission slip.
• Your year of examination.
• A results checker — this gives you a serial number and a PIN.
• Your date of birth — some result types ask for this as well.

The serial number and the PIN are two different codes and you need both. The serial number identifies the voucher; the PIN is the secret code.

Step by step

1. Go to the official WAEC Ghana results portal at eresults.waecgh.org.
2. Choose your exam type — BECE (School) if you sat with a school, or BECE (Private) if you registered privately.
3. Enter your index number exactly as it appears on your slip.
4. Select your examination year.
5. Enter your date of birth if the form asks for it.
6. Enter the serial number from your checker.
7. Enter the PIN from your checker.
8. Submit, and your results will be displayed.

Common problems

"Invalid PIN" or "Invalid serial number"

Almost always a typing mistake. Check for a confused 0 and O or 1 and I, and make sure there are no extra spaces. Enter the codes exactly as they were given to you.

"Results not found"

Usually the index number or the exam year is wrong. Confirm the index number against your slip and check you selected the correct year and the correct exam type — School and Private are separate options.

My results are not released yet

A checker will not show results before WAEC releases them. Your checker does not expire when this happens — wait for the official release and try again.

My PIN says it has already been used

Each checker allows a limited number of views, set by WAEC. If yours has run out you will need a new checker. If you believe your PIN was used by someone else, contact us and we will look into it.
